Cresson, Pa. – Mount Aloysius College’s student choir, Vox Nova, will be performing their concert “Mellow Memories” this spring, featuring popular songs from the early 20th century. The concert will be held Monday, April 17th at 7:00 pm in Our Lady of Mercy Chapel.
Vox Nova director Nancy Way said, “The smooth and rich popular songs of America from the 1930s and 1940s are still as memorable today as they were in their heyday. Vox Nova performs a compilation of these tunes from composers such as Irving Berlin, Harold Arlen, and George Gershwin.”
“This concert is definitely in my top favorites from my last 3 years of Vox Nova,” said Marlee Stake, junior Vox Nova member. “The style is so much fun! It brings back memories of listening to music in the kitchen with my mom.” Featured songs from the concert include “Let’s Call the Whole Thing Off,” ”Jeepers Creepers,” and “At Last.”
Members of the community are invited to attend this night of timeless music. The Vox concert is free to all attendees. Donations are requested, but not required.
