Need & Merit-based Aid
Need & Merit-based Aid
Approximately ninety-eight percent of MAC students receive financial aid with the average aid package over $12,000. We award millions of dollars in scholarships each year and also offer grants and work-study. By offering both need & merit-based aid, MAC prioritizes affordability for future Mounties.

Our test optional policy allows you to determine whether your standardized test scores (SAT or ACT) will be considered as part of the application review process. You can submit your score if you believe they will enhance your application, but they are not required for admission.
The Great Outdoors
State parks are on our doorstep
You’ll find an assortment of beautiful state parks just minutes from Mount Aloysius, including Prince Gallitzin, Blue Knob, Canoe Creek, and Yellow Creek. There are plenty of nearby locations for biking, boating, cross-country skiing, fishing, golfing, hunting, swimming, and more.
For a break from classes or studies, you can hike or ride a mountain bike in the wooded areas around campus. In the spring and summer, toss a frisbee or football on the wide green lawns. In the autumn, jump into piles of leaves or pick apples from the campus orchard. In the winter, you can cross-country ski right out your front door.
City Connections
Suburban malls, stores, & restaurants
Mount Aloysius is a center for outdoor life, but the convenience of modern shopping, dining, and entertainment is nearby, too. A fifteen-minute drive in one direction brings you to the city of Altoona where you’ll find more shopping, restaurants, theatres, malls and entertainment.
For the hustle and bustle of an even bigger city, you can zip off to Pittsburgh. Driving an hour and a half west will bring you to the home of the Steelers, Pirates, Penguins, and an endless number of places to go and things to do. Truly, you’ll find the best of all worlds at Mount Aloysius, from the outdoors to the big city.
