Cresson, Pa. – The Mount Aloysius College Theatre Department is hosting an unforgettable evening of Broadway music, featuring acclaimed New York performer Janelle Farias Sando, as well as current theatre students and alumni. The event celebrates the strength and transformative power of the arts, while also honoring the legacy of Mount theatre alum Tim Michrina. The performance will take place February 6 at 7pm in historic Alumni Hall on the Mount Aloysius College campus.
Tim Michrina, a 2014 Mountie graduate and Theatre Department alumni, tragically passed away in 2022. He was best known for performance as Jesus in the Mount’s 2014 production of Godspell just weeks after experiencing a heart attack. Tim also performed as Jesús in 2013’s The Odd Couple (Female Version), and Charlie Brown in 2012’s You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown. A scholarship created in Tim’s honor will be formally announced during the event with the naming of the first recipient.
Named by American Theatre Magazine as one of “20 Theater Workers You Should Know,” New York City–based Sando brings powerhouse vocals and compelling storytelling honed on stages across the country, from intimate cabarets to major On- and Off-Broadway productions.
Following the performance, guests are invited to a reception with appetizers, drinks, and the opportunity to interact with cast and crew members in the Wolf-Kuhn Gallery.
All lovers of the arts are welcome. Reservations are highly encouraged, with a suggested donation of $20. Tickets are available at mtaloy.edu/tim.
