Cresson, Pa. – Mount Aloysius College hosted the first annual conference for the PA Association for Sonographers on March 7, 2026.

The conference was attended by 75 people, including sonographers and students from across the state of Pennsylvania. It featured a variety of vendors, allowing attendees to demo ultrasonography machines and equipment from companies like Canon and GE. Attendees were given the opportunity to explore heart anatomy and perform virtual echocardiograms via on-site virtual headsets. Local employers were on-site to discuss career opportunities with students and other attendees.

The conference also featured presentations from vendor representatives: Cindy Rapp from Canon Medical presented on “The Art of Breast Sonography” and Jennifer Sipert, CEO of Sound Ergonomics, spoke on “Patient Safety and Risk Management.”

The Pennsylvania Association for Sonographers aims to bring networking and professional development opportunities closer to home for ultrasound and echocardiography techs across the state. Its mission is to empower sonographers and nurture the next generation through accessible resources, networking events, education, and career support.
