Cresson, Pa. – Mount Aloysius College was awarded a $1.8 million grant through the Pennsylvania Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP), which will assist with funding the renovations to the College’s Mountie Success Commons & Library, directly impacting student success and magnifying community workforce development efforts.
This grant will propel a new Career Center, elevate our state-of-the-art cyber security program, and unite support services and academics to benefit students, local employers, and the region. The newly-renovated, multi-use facility features the College’s Career Center, Advising Center, Tutoring Center, Student Testing Center, Cybersecurity Lab, and the Center for Elevated Teaching & Learning.
“We are extremely grateful for those who played a role in helping us secure this grant,” said John McKeegan, president of Mount Aloysius College. “Especially to Senator Langerholc and Representative Rigby who are very supportive of this institution and are excited to see growth like this in the region, as well as the Cresson Township Supervisors.”
The Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program is a Commonwealth grant program administered by the Office of the Budget for the acquisition and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational and historical improvement projects. The College enrolls approximately 25 percent of its students from Cambria County, with nearly 40 percent hailing from the neighboring counties of Bedford, Blair, Clearfield, and Somerset.
