Cresson, PA – Mount Aloysius College is proud to announce its national Top 100 placement (#89) on Newsweek’s inaugural America’s Best Colleges for Women 2026 list, and Top 10 ranking (#6) for Pennsylvania institutions. This achievement places Mount Aloysius College among the best in the nation for supporting women’s success in higher education, reflecting the College’s commitment to equity, leadership, opportunity, and academic excellence.

The America’s Best Colleges for Women 2026 ranking was developed by Newsweek in partnership with Gender Fair, a gender equity research and certification organization. The list highlights colleges and universities nationwide that demonstrate meaningful support for women’s academic experiences, future opportunities, and overall campus environments. Institutions were evaluated across four core areas: leadership, pay and policies, campus safety, and opportunity. The methodology drew on federally reported data from the U.S. Department of Education’s Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) and Campus Safety and Security Database, along with supplemental research to assess conditions that shape women’s success on and off campus.

“We are honored that the Mount is recognized among the nation’s top colleges for women,” said John McKeegan, president of Mount Aloysius College. “Women’s education, health, and spirituality are among the critical concerns for our founding Sisters of Mercy, and we are proud to provide an elevated environment where all students can thrive academically, personally, and professionally.”

This recognition not only distinguishes Mount Aloysius College among a competitive field of more than 1,200 colleges nationwide, but also enhances the College’s visibility among prospective students and families seeking a supportive and equitable educational environment.
